Rose, absolute (Rosa damascena)

Has the highest frequency of all the essential oils. It enhances the frequency of every cell of the body, helping to bring about physical and emotional health and balance. Rose Damascena and Rose Centifolia are the ones for which most of the literature is written, although other species are sometimes utilized by essential oil producers. It is possible, with a good nose and a good buyer, to find a marvelous Rose that is high in frequency, very effective and only expensive - not absurdly expensive!  (This would be an absolute, of course) Rose is one of the very best oils for use in an emotional crisis, extreme debility and fatigue, and is also effective for a wide range of physical problems.

Therapeutic Properties:  Anti-infectious, antiseptic, astringent, tonic, stimulant, aphrodisiac, emollient, nervine, cytophylactic.

Application:  Apply to the feet or to areas of concern on the body; wear as a perfume.

Aromatic:  Almost intoxicating fragrance, stimulating to the mind, aphrodisiac effects.

Contraindications:  Use with caution during pregnancy.

*Absolutes are extremely concentrated and should be evaluated in diluted or extremely small quantities. Large amounts can cause the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - to become lost and overwhelmed.
